Popsicle treasures! This page will feature the choicest of tidbits we have to offer. It might be anything from signed discs to very rare copies of out of print classics. Given the very nature of the items, if you see it here once it does not mean you may ever see it again, so shop accordingly.

The top items will be signed discs, which may or may not be new or out of print. After that will come all the new listings. These are items that are generally brand new. We will try to bring you these releases before you can get them elsewhere. We will also stock some slightly older still in print titles which we feel are of special note, and at a special price as well.

Shine
A singer/songwriter in the true sense of the word, this guy has talent in spades... On this six track debut, Bergqvist tips his hat to classic and contemporary influences such as Elton John, fellow Swedes Popsicle and the two Smiths: Shawn and Elliott. Bergqvist is able to absorb all these influences and still manage not to sound like anyone else. It’s a good thing we have his new album too! Did we mention it’s also signed exclusively for Popsicle by Johan? Highly recommended!

Intertwined
Johan Bergqvist’s full-length debut album delivers on the promise of his previous EP. It lulls you with piano/voice opener “A Silent Cry For Help” before exploding into the power-pop single “Bliss” which isn’t 100 miles away from Ben Folds when he takes himself seriously. Bergqvist also delivers a disarmingly mellow interpretation of Popsicle’s powerpop classic “Hey Princess” which has been highly praised by it’s composers. More piano-based than his earlier work, this album is balanced out by having an equal number of ballads and upbeat numbers. And Johan has very kindly signed every copy he sent us. What a nice chap!

Empathy
This is the first album side project of the brilliant Australian band Bidston Moss. The undertones are relaxed, the melodies are beautiful and the girls voices are simply to die for. It layers complex harmonies in such beautiful ways yet the arrangements retain an air of delicacy, and it remains one of my favorite LP's of the past 10 years. It was not generally available in the US before so get your copy signed by the band itself while you can, you won't regret it.

Working With My Hands
Brainpool’s celebrates their 10th anniversary with this double album rock opera which fuses old influences (The Who, Pink Floyd etc) with the band’s trademark rocking power-pop sound . While retaining a freshness and originality, Brainpool have created an album that feels strangely familiar with masterful production that will bring to mind memories of Tommy, Quadrophenia, The Wall and others. Popsicle has exclusively been able to get Jens, David and Christoffer to sign a handful of these fantastic double CD sets!

Too Young
Long out of print, when we contacted Daniel for copies of his new disc he inquired with his old label about this and they found a few in their basement, and we got em all! An incredible 60's Sgt. Peppers styled retro epic that got wholly ignored until you couldn't get it anymore and everyone wanted it. Well, now you can not only get it but it will arrive signed by Daniel himself! Don't sleep kiddies, when these are gone, it's gone! As my mentor Mr. Muzak used to say, "You snooze, you lose!"

Still That Same Refrain
It Ain't Gonna Last
This is Daniels follow up album to Softly. On it he abandoned the lo-fi Pepper-esque sounds of that outing to embrace essentially a homogeny of all that is current and wonderful from all his fellow Swedish contemporaries. A wonderful gem which made the Spinzone top ten of 2003, it has not been available in North America before. What's more it arrives signed by the artist himself! Get your copy while you can.

Tell It Like It Is
Available no where else, Popsicle is proud to be able to bring you South Of The River, the debut album from German Crooning sensation Holm. After waiting years since his brilliant debut ep Music For Astronauts, Holm melds his chart sensibilities, passionate songwriting and a voice to die for all on this album. On top of that, initial copies are signed by Holm himself! Don't miss this one, or the interview!

Hår Kommer Solen
This is the first band to be signed to the Labrador label that actually sings in Swedish. While some of the slower tracks are reminiscent of Sigur Ros the harder tracks bring to mind images of the Velvet Underground as well as a few other 60's and 70's influences. And the vocals? Hell, who knew what Liz Frazer ever sang in the Cocteau twins, and it didn't matter. And if all that wasn't enough this is signed by Christopher Sander! By the way, Ingenting, means "nothing" in Swedish.

Refused Demo Land
It’s been four years since The Mopeds released “The Land Of The Three” and while nothing IMHO can touch their 1998 debut ”The Hills Are Alive With The Sound Of Mopeds”, Fortissimo is a great return to form for this Malmo trio. They are studio wizards and this album is brimming with frenetic high energy power pop that bursts from the speakers from start to finish. This is one to play loud, and exclusively signed for us here at Popsicle by all three Mopeds!

Peachtree
This is the second long player from this Texas team of husband and wife, and it picks up right where the other left off. As touching as ever, this time they went for a more layered sound by adding additional instrumentation but the songs are as, well I don't want to say they have a homespun quality, but there is a genuine earnestness about the whole thing that is quite touching. Very recommended.

Life Is Sitcom
We are proud to offer this debut of what may be the finest US band right now. While comparisons to the Sundays are inevitable this band so exceeds them in depth of emotion and lyrical quality that comparisons should be made about Annabella, and everyone else would fall short. Brilliant and touching on so many levels it as a must own. (it's recorded excellently as well)

Soaked
One In The Same
This 7 track demo was Annabellas first release, but they considered it a "test" to work on their sound. Well, give it an A+. The songs here are a bit more upbeat and "pop" oriented than their debut with a fuller sound and while it has a "demo" sound it is warm and lush and a real treat to listen to. They can do no wrong, so throw this in your cart while we can offer it to you.

The Best Thing
Here it is, the latest release from this great Indonesian band, and the third time is the charm! As always, this is a wonderful mix of pop, jazz, classic ballads, a look to the future and a nod to their past. I truly think this band can do now wrong and you'll certainly want to add this to your list of albums to get this year. It's also one of the most ingenious packaging jobs I've ever seen.

This baby is so hot it isn't even available in a lot of Europe yet! Taking the sound they developed so well on their debut, they energise it on this disc into a fuller and larger tapestry, with epic sounding keyboards and powerful guitars, while still wrapping them around their great melodies and superb songwriting. We have T baby to thank for bringing this band to our attention.

Silver Moon Boots
We are proud to offer the debut from this "quaint" UK band who's music brings to mind many of the aspects of fellow UK popsters Jesus Couldn't Drum. Ecclectic but always retaining a sense of pop friendliness this album includes euro-techno dance songs to touching classical ballads and everything in between. (and it is much better than the cover would suggest)
