Between the Lines
This debut by Sambassadeur presents the listener with a lot of varied styles, from the catchy guitar pop of "New Moon" to the Vitesse like synths of "Sense Of Sound", it is as interesting and enjoyable as it is varied with it's boy/girl vocals and rich harmonies. Very nice.

Too Young
Long out of print, when we contacted Daniel for copies of his new disc he inquired with his old label about this and they found a few in their basement, and we got em all! An incredible 60's Sgt. Peppers styled retro epic that got wholly ignored until you couldn't get it anymore and everyone wanted it. Well, now you can not only get it but it will arrive signed by Daniel himself! Don't sleep kiddies, when these are gone, it's gone! As my mentor Mr. Muzak used to say, "You snooze, you lose!"

Still That Same Refrain
It Ain't Gonna Last
This is Daniels follow up album to Softly. On it he abandoned the lo-fi Pepper-esque sounds of that outing to embrace essentially a homogeny of all that is current and wonderful from all his fellow Swedish contemporaries. A wonderful gem which made the Spinzone top ten of 2003, it has not been available in North America before. What's more it arrives signed by the artist himself! Get your copy while you can.

Stick With You
The brand new third long player from the great Daniel Saturn heralds a return to his "softer" side. This is a wonderful collection of new songs peppered with piano and his beatle-esque type magical harmonies. Nobody can recreate this genre nearly as well as this man and while there are no overt chart topping poppers here, it is quite possibly his best album of them all. Like the ones that came before you can't get this anyplace else, so order while we have them! (and the first batch are signed as well from what I hear!)

Meant To Be With You
Aside from her cameo vocal on the Metro Jets Christmas single “Jingle Jangle Christmas” last year, we haven’t heard from Vibeke since her brilliant second album “Overdrive” became the feelgood album of the summer of 03 and lived permanently in our car stereo. This follow-up doesn’t disappoint with it’s ten tracks of uptempo, hooky, power-pop with one foot in the 60’s and Vibeke’s trademark Debbie Harryesque vocal delivery. Highly recommended!

Starlet - Late March
The third offering in this labrador series, this one is probably Spinguys favorite. It has some brilliant (and exclusive) tracks by bands such as Corduroy Utd, Punkys' Dilemma, Starlet and the Radio Dept to name a few. It makes a great intro to the swedish scene if you are new to it, and a great gift as well!

Friends
This is the sophomore effort that put Starlet on the map and made them Spinguys favorite band at that time. One of the most touching, introspective, and simply beautiful albums ever to have been made. The lyrical quality of the songs are some of the best in recent memory as well, this should be in every collection.

Invisibility Trick
Stars in Coma features the work of André Brorsson. This album offers both new recordings as well as older re-recorded compositions, a perfect introduction to what Stars in Coma is about. It sounds like the sonic swirl of Felt, the off-kilter melody of The Pastels, the pure pop of fellow Swedes Celestial and also like . . .well, nothing else really!

No Way Back
This debut album by Steric delivers eleven pop songs with inspiration from bands such as Prefab Sprout and the Style Council, sung and played with a smooth lead vocal, crispy guitars and ingenious horn arrangements not un-like Burt Bacharach - simply elegant and stylish. The atmosphere in the music is subtle, light and bubbling and Steric fully assures from the first line that spring is right around the corner.

Young And Stupid
TPD's fourth album features a dozen catchy pop songs given depth and weight by smart production touches and a super-compressed sound favored by guitarists Rickard Johansson and Ove Markstrom that gives nearly every song an exciting, contents-under-pressure edge. The first single, "Down on My Knees," suggest what Oasis might sound like if they had talent for anything besides Beatles plagiarism. The opening track, the searing lost-love rocker "Could Have Been Friends," should have been a huge hit.

On this their sophomore effort, Tiger Baby embrace a darker kind of techno club noir. While it beats, throbs and pulses a pop vein is still there and the sultry vocals of Pernille Pang are as sweet as ever. Note: This album does not have the cover of Love Will Tear Us Apart as reviewed in the Spinzone, that was a track the label threw on his CDR review copy. (And he didn't like it anyway)

The latest album from Claes Björklund and Lasse Lindh is a treat for sure. This time out they have embraced a decidedly more synth driven line like 80's popsters Moev and this electro-tinged melancholic indiepop is the perfect vehicle for Lindh’s sultry hushed voice. It has as much angst as it does dancability and it's safe to say this is undoubtedly their best work and one which should be on everyones list.

This quirky duo from Stockholm is named after an old Orange Juice song, and they play music that is truly unique. Imagine a cross between Mercury Rev and Pet Shop Boys and you’re about half way there. Lead singer K. Svensson has a very unique voice you will either love or hate, but if you love it, oh, it will be love indeed. You could go on all day clutching at comparisons but the fact is they sound like nobody else, which is high praise indeed. One of Spinguys top 10's of the year.
